The records of Washington includes thousands of years of original American records in the past Europeans and Americans arrived and began to pronounce territorial claims. The region was portion of Oregon Territory from 1848 to 1853, after which it was divided from Oregon and received as Washington Territory. In 1889, Washington became the 42nd own up of the United States.
