The archives of Washington includes thousands of years of original American records before Europeans and Americans arrived and began to assert territorial claims. The region was ration of Oregon Territory from 1848 to 1853, after which it was divided from Oregon and expected as Washington Territory. In 1889, Washington became the 42nd allow in of the United States.
